Frequently asked questions

Before you send your document

If you are unsure what your institution is asking for, send me the document and the requirements you have received and I can review them with you.

What is a sworn translation?

A sworn translation is an official translation produced and certified by a Sworn Translator-Interpreter appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation.

Do I need to send you the original document?

In many cases, a clear digital copy is sufficient for me to prepare the translation. Requirements can vary depending on the authority or institution receiving the document, so I will confirm what is appropriate for your case.

Can I receive the translation digitally?

Depending on your requirements, delivery can be arranged digitally and, where necessary, as a physical copy. We will agree the appropriate format before the work begins.

How much does a sworn translation cost?

The price depends on the document, length, complexity and required turnaround. Send me a copy and I will provide a clear quotation before you commit to the translation.

Do I need an Apostille?

An Apostille and a sworn translation serve different purposes. Whether you need an Apostille depends on the document, the issuing country and the authority where it will be submitted. If an institution has given you specific instructions, send them together with your document.
